About Us

Merrijig Rodeo is a family-oriented, APRA associated event, held annually on Saturday of the March Labour Day long weekend. We are the second in the Kyabram, Merrijig, Chiltern Tri-Series and look forward to hosting our 48th rodeo in 2024. Not only have we been entertaining rodeo fans for 48 years, we are proud to give back profits from each event to the community groups who volunteer to help us run it.

Nestled in the heart of the High Country below Mt Buller, our action-packed event couldn’t be set in a more picturesque location. As you soak up the sun and the vista, you could be forgiven for feeling like you're on the set of a movie. That's right, the legendary “Man From Snowy River" movies were filmed right here in Merrijig and surrounds.
